The calm between storms. A last drink with the friends the sea has taken, and the voyage that matters most: Edward and his daughter, homeward bound.

“We work in the dark to serve the light.” Edward Kenway didn’t start out believing it, but every strike, escape and broadside in this action set brings him closer. Five pivotal moments from the Jackdaw captain’s journey, frozen in motion.

Celebrate the Golden Age of Piracy through a collection of portraits honoring the captains and rogues who sailed beside Edward Kenway, and sometimes against him.

The Brotherhood’s members rarely announce themselves. Adewale, born into slavery and once quartermaster of the Jackdaw, chose the Creed over a pirate’s life. Mary Read, a rebel hiding in plain sight, pushed Edward toward it long before he was ready to listen.

Not every enemy flies a flag. The Templar Order reaches across the Caribbean through governors, turncoats and men of empire – Laureano de Torres, Woodes Rogers and Benjamin Hornigold – each determined to bring the pirates to heel. And in Edward’s own blood, an echo of the order he fought: his son, Haytham.

Cannon smoke, splintered hulls and boarding hooks. Two scenes from the open-sea battles that made the Golden Age of Piracy legendary, where every prize was won at cannon range or cutlass point.
